Kal-Haven Trail State Park is a 34-mile crushed limestone path connecting South Haven and Kalamazoo. The trail meanders through wooded areas, past farm lands and over rivers and streams. Trail highlights include a camelback bridge and covered bridge. Designated Watchable Wildlife Site, Hiking, Bridle Trails, Snowmobile Area - Allowed with 4" of snow or more on the ground. This Lake Michigan beach consists of one mile of sandy-stone. It's used mainly for swimming, sunbathing, and walking. Most visitors come in June, July, and August; summer air temperatures can range from the mid-60s to the upper 80s. Amenities include a concession stand, showers, and modern rest rooms that are open between April 15 and October 15.

The park comprises 30 acres of animals and rides for small children. Around 650 animals such as llamas, deer, white elk, and rheas roam the park, and most may be fed and petted. There is also a Nursery Rhyme Lane, where the children's tales are acted out, and a train to take you through the park. Exit 39 off of I-94.

A small premium winery known for its estate-bottled Rieslings, Champagnes, Pinot Gris and barrel-aged red wines. Located a few miles northeast of Benton Harbor, Sarett Nature Center is a real gem. Pick up a map, then set off to explore the five miles of trails that meander through peaceful upland meadows, along wooded bluffs, and across the floodplain of the Paw Paw River. On the floodplain you'll encounter a variety of watery habitats, including wet forests, turkey vultures, hawks, owls, and woodpeckers. But even if you can't tell a pied-billed grebe from a rufous-sided towhee, cattail marches, fens, and shrub carrs. Boardwalks and observations platforms allow you to venture into the very heart of the wetlands without getting your feet wet. The birdwatching at Sarett is excellent. The preserve's 800 acres are home to some 300 species, including ducks, herons, you're sure to enjoy this special place. Trails are open dawn to dusk. The Nature Center building is open Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Sunday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM; and closed Mondays.

Open all year, the Michigan Maritime Museum offers an array of permanent and changing exhibits.
