David Rose is a National Board Certified high school teacher. He has been formally trained at The Tom Brown Wilderness Tracker School. His expertise in practical outdoor skills comes from a lifetime of personal experience, including his many years in the scouting program. David is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout of America organization.

Beyond the basic wilderness survival skills, he has highly developed skills in primitive archery, Native American living skills, and bird identification.

David is also a martial arts instructor, having attained a 3rd degree black belt in the Japanese self-defense art of Aikido. His interests and experience includes Japanese calligraphy and Zen mediation. He also speaks Spanish and French. He is also an expert woodworker.
